30 Couple’s Date Night |
There is no better way to
kick-off Family Emphasis than to be able to go out on a date with your
spouse (or significant other). For those that might need it, there is
FREE child care available at the church from 5:00 – 7:00 PM courtesy of
our Single Mom’s ministry. |
|
April 6 |
Beginning at 5:00 PM we
will be showing the Disney movie
The
Game Plan. This is a great family friendly movie that everyone
in your family will love. Our youth ministry will be providing a
concession stand as a fundraiser for their
Dare2Share conference. |
|
April 13 |
This is one of the yearly
favorites. We will once again be renting out the entire
Rollhaven
Skating Rink from 5:30 – 7:30 PM. This year we will be using the
Skateland located on Saginaw Street in Grand Blanc. Admission is $2.00
per person and skate rentals are $3.00 per person (if you are not
skating there is no cost). |
|
April 20 |
Pastor Randy will be providing a marriage
assessment for you and your spouse to take during Family Emphasis. On
this night, he will be providing explanation on how to evaluate your
assessment. This may prove to be the most valuable event this year. The
concepts reviewed this night are from the book,
Why Marriages Succeed and Fail by John Gottman. |
|
April 27 |
Spring will be in the air, but bowling is a
great year-round event. This event is for the entire family. We will
have lanes available for the kids (with and without the guard rails),
and we will have lanes available for the adults (with and without the
guard rails). Times and prices will be announced at a later date. |
|
May 4 |
Immediately following our
morning services we will be cooking out, family style, in the back part
of our property. We will officially open our sand volleyball pit as well
as horse shoes and several other great yard games. |
| May
9-10 2nd Annual Couple’s Retreat |
We will once again be
retuning to the Amish community in northern Indiana known as
Shipshewana and staying at the
Farmstead Inn. Dr. Ed
Johnson will be our guest speaker and he will be both challenging
and encouraging. Whether you are a newlywed or have been married for
several years, this is a retreat that needs to be made a priority. Cost
is $120 plus dinner on Friday night. A $50 deposit is due by April 20. |
| May 11 Mother’s Day |
Make sure to bring your mom
with you on this special day as we honor our mothers the best we can.
All moms will receive a special gift simply for being in attendance. |
| May 18 Movie Outing |
The newest edition of the
Chronicles of Narnia series opens this weekend.
Prince Caspian
should be another great movie reminding us of the importance of our
faith. Times will be announced once the theater lets us know. |
